desk refresh

I picked up this desk off FBMP last year and only used it for a month or so before putting it in my basement. When I decided to bring the pull out sofa into my office (Velvra sectional post), I knew I wanted a smaller desk and remembered I had this one stored in my basement. The only thing was I didn’t love the color of it. It was a brighter orangey wood tone, so I painted over it with some extra Behr Vintage Pewter I had. But even that wasn’t what I was feeling, so I decided to try out my faux wood technique on it! Below is what the desk looked like with the first coat of paint (also what my space looks like when trying to do stuff with a toddler around lol).

The faux wood technique is one of my faves and I’ve used it several times now. I always like to let the glaze sit for a few hours before going in with a dry brush to make the stores look more natural and blended. Below is what it looked like before I went in to blend!

And here she is after blending! I was loving how it was coming together so much.

And here she is finished! Exactly what I had in mind for this space! So happy with it.
